Please follow this link to review the current proposed bike path plan for Park Boulevard.   Staff is still open for feedback.  To give feedback, email sarah.syed@cityofpaloalto.org, the project manager.

Some of the proposed changes affecting Ventura specifically are:

  • Proposed new median on Fernando near intersection with Park – Fernando is really narrow.  Is this really necessary?  Some of us are still adjusting to the one on Wilton.  Its poorly marked and at night it’s really hard to see, so if you don’t know it’s there, it’s easy to roll over.
  • Installation of speed table at Lambert and Park. Speed tables are traffic calming devices that raise the entire wheelbase of a vehicle to reduce its traffic speed. Speed tables are longer than speed humps and flat-topped, with a height of 3–3.5 inches and a length of 22 feet.  Do we really need this?  Are there an overabundance of these speed tables on the path in any case.
  • Creek Crossing Treatment for Adobe Creek.  Why no creek crossing treatment for Matadero?  Not a biggy, but why the inconsistency?

Again, check out these and all of the proposed changes on the city’s website.
